Your bank will never ask you to sign in or give personal information via text message. Banks don't ask that.

Using a cell phone or a computer has become part of everyday life.  Unfortunately, cybercriminals are after your personal information. It is important to be aware of the different types of online threats.  Phishing, Vishing, and Smishing are just a few of the online scams that fraudsters use to steal your private data.  Fortunately, keeping yourself educated can decrease your changes of falling for these online threats.

Phishing is a type of online scam where criminals impersonate legitimate organizations via email, text message, advertisement or other means in order to steal sensitive information, such as passwords and credit card numbers.

Smishing is the fraudulent practice of sending text messages purporting to be from reputable companies in order to induce individuals to reveal personal information, such as passwords or credit card numbers.


 

What is vishing?

The fraudulent practice of making phone calls or leaving voice messages purporting to be from reputable companies in order to induce individuals to reveal personal information, such as bank details and credit card numbers.

Call our Fraud Protection Services at 800.472.3272 to report your card lost or stolen.

Experienced fraud analysts work around the clock, watching for any suspicious card activity and will contact you immediately if they detect potential fraud on your card. So if you ever get a call from “Fraud Prevention Services” know that they are doing their job to prevent potential fraudulent use of your card.

Be prepared.

Make a list of everything in your wallet BEFORE it's lost. 

  • Credit or debit cards numbers and the customer service phone number to call if your cards are lost or stolen
  • Checks
  • Insurance cards (medical, car, etc.)
  • Membership cards (gym, library, etc.)
  • ID cards (driver’s license, school ID)
  • Passport
