Security Bank in Coleridge will be hosting a retirement open house on Wednesday, June 16th from 9 am – Noon to congratulate Mary Biltoft on her retirement from Security Bank.

Mary has been in the banking industry for over 39 years spending most of those years first in consumer lending and now all types of lending.  She and her husband have two grown children and 6 grandchildren; she says there are no better times than those spent with her family and friends.   Mary loves to spend time boating in the summer and traveling to somewhere warm in the winter.  She spoke fondly of her grandchildren stating,  “My goal was to teach all six grandchildren to water-ski and some of them have changed from skiing to the wake board and others prefer tubing.”

Mary started her banking career in Milford NE while her husband, Mike, was in school and upon his graduation they moved back to the area. At that time Mary worked for an affiliated bank in Norfolk NE. Three years later they purchased a business in Coleridge where they set down their roots and raised their two children.  Mary started working for the bank in Coleridge in 1984 as a receptionist and moved through the ranks to where she is today as Branch President and heads up the lending department at the Coleridge Branch.

Security Bank Executive Vice President, Susie Koranda stated, “Mary has been a very dedicated member of our Security Bankteam and the Coleridge community throughout the years.  We  wish Mary well in her retirement. We know she will  enjoy spending more time with her family and friends.”

Mary is active in her church and community.  Through CKPPD (Cedar-Knox Public Power District) she started the community website in 1997, kept it updated and is now turning the reigns over to the Village office.  She loved being a mentor for the Teammates program and served on the Board of Directors.  She is on several committees at Immanuel Lutheran Church and  treasurer for the Coleridge Area Fund which is affiliated with the Nebraska Community Foundation.

Mary has been in banking long enough to have seen the good times and the bad times and strives to help her customers reach their goals.  She will miss her customers who have become friends over the years but knows she will run into them at church and community events.

We look forward to the opportunity to thank Mary for her 39 years of dedicated service to our customers and Security Bank over the years. We hope you’ll stop in for Cupcakes and Coffee and join us in congratulating her on life’s next journey!
