Osmond, NE – Security Bank in Osmond will be hosting a retirement open house on Thursday, July 29th from 9 am to Noon to congratulate Chris Adamson on her retirement from Security Bank.

Chris began her banking career with Security Bank (then Osmond State Bank) on September 6, 1983 as a Customer Service Representative under the direction of Jim Stratton who was President at that time. Through the years she advanced to her current position as Administrative Loan Assistant and Classic Club Director.

Chris entered the work force in 1971 after graduating from Kearney High School.  Prior to her years at Security Bank, she held various clerical and bookkeeping positions.  Through the years with Security Bank she has gained a wealth of knowledge and banking experience.  Chris states, “I am proud to be associated with an organization that is committed to the success and best interests of their customers and staff.  I have had the opportunity to work beside and learn from some very talented and caring individuals in my 38 years at Security Bank.”

Chris has witnessed many changes and advancements in technology and implementation of automated services replacing daily and monthly tasks that were once done manually.   “When I started, all transactions were processed through a correspondent bank.  Technology and equipment have made the processing of daily work fast and efficient!”

Many in our banking communities have been able to get to know Chris from her involvement in Security Bank’s Classic Club, which she has been a part of since its inception in 1990.  “I have truly enjoyed the opportunities and responsibilities associated with Classic Club.”

Security Bank Executive Vice President, Susie Koranda stated, “We wish Chris well in her retirement.  In her position and roll as Classic Club Director, she has been able to form many great relationships with customers, coworkers, and community members.  We thank her for her 38 years of service and dedication to Security Bank and the community of Osmond.”

Chris has been active in her church and community as Finance Committee/Treasurer of the Osmond United Methodist Church, a member of the Osmond General Hospital Foundation, American Legion Auxiliary Membership Chairperson, and Osmond’s Down Memory Lane Museum Treasurer.  She also spent time serving as a TeamMates Mentor, Sunday School Teacher, and Children’s Choir Director.

Chris moved to the community of Osmond with her husband, Brad, and two daughters in April of 1979. Little did she realize, when Brad was offered the local manager position in Osmond with Nebraska Public Power District, that they would root down so deeply adding two more daughters to the family. All four daughters graduated from Osmond Community School and went on to earn Bachelor’s Degrees from Wayne State College.

Chris and Brad have been blessed with eleven Grandchildren ranging in ages from 29 to 3 and when asked about her upcoming retirement, Chris responded she looks forward to spending more time with family and friends and attending grandchildren’s activities. She added, “Security Bank has been a great place to work. I will miss my coworkers and seeing and assisting the customers.”

We look forward to the opportunity to thank Chris for her 38 years of dedicated service to our customers, the community, and Security Bank over the years.  We invite you to join us for cake, cookies, and coffee, and congratulating Chris on life’s next journey!
