Richard E. Adkins Jr.
Rick began his career as a loan officer in Geneva State Bank, moved Security Bank in 1973 as a Loan Officer; and in 1980 was elected President/CEO and Chairman of the Board. He currently serves as Chairman.
Rick has been involved in the Laurel area over the years, including the serving on Laurel Chamber, the United Methodist Church board, Cedar County Fair Board, Cedar County Extension Service and the Cedar County 4H Council, and Laurel area Community Foundation.
In 1999, Rick was elected to the President of the Nebraska Bankers Association. During his tenure he served on various American Bankers Association committees ;including the Agricultural Committee, the Government Relations Committee, and the Community Bankers Committee.
When not in the bank Rick spends time exhibiting his American Quarter Horse. Rick is currently a National Director of the American Quarter Horse Association, representing Nebraska and is a past president of the Nebraska Quarter Horse Association. He is a trustee of the University of Nebraska Foundation. Rick and his wife Joan, have four children, all graduates of Laurel Concord High School.
