Keith Knudsen
President / CEO
In May of 1981, Keith joined Security Bank full-time as a management trainee after working part-time as an intern. After serving in various management roles for the bank, Knudsen was elected President in 2013 and President/CEO in 2015.
Knudsen earned a Business Administration-Finance degree from Wayne State College in May 1981. In 1991, he received his diploma from the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado. He served as a Trustee of the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado from 2010 to 2018 and was chairman of the School in 2015-2016. Knudsen has also served on the Nebraska Bankers Association (NBA) board of directors and has been involved in a variety of committee work for the organization. He currently participates on the NBA Tech Task Force Committee.
Keith grew up in Laurel and has close ties with the community where he and his wife, Karen, raised their 3 sons, Greg, Jeff, and Mitch. He is currently the Mayor of the City of Laurel, chairs the Laurel Area Community Foundation, is a member of the Laurel Economic Development Advisory Council and is a Nebraska Ambassador for the Nebraska Department of Economic Development. Keith and his wife Karen also serve as trustees of the Wayne State Foundation.
In his free time, Keith enjoys reading, traveling, boating and spending time with his family.
